Hello All,
I am the owner of Linuxslate.com
I have been working to make Linux work as well as possible on the Fujitsu Stylistics.
Now I need some help.
I am having a number of problems getting the pen drivers working properly with XFree86 4.0.x
The XFree86 4.0.x driver I have posted is giving me some problems:
Under 4.0.1, X is often frozen when my Stylistic 1200 wakes up from sleep. Since X is frozen, I have to either telnet in and kill it, or do a nasty power cycle. This problem is un-related to the Pen drivers, and happens wether or not the pen drivers are installed. The pen drivers themselves work fine.
Installing 4.0.2 or 4.0.3 fixes the wake-up problem, but then I have 2 problems with the pen drivers:
First, GNOME causes the X server to crash when GNOME is starting up (Only when the pen drivers are installed). Other window managers without GNOME work fine. (iceWM)
Second, The side switch is reported as button 252 !! Even when I hard code it to be button 3. The side button works fine in 4.0.1
I would very much appreciate any help fixing these problems.
*** I will soon have an offer on my website for a free Linuxslate.com dress shirt (That's right, a quality dress shirt, not just a T-shirt) for anyone who makes a significant contribution to Open Source Tablet computing. Helping me fix these problems may get you a shirt !! (Check the site again in a few weeks for details)
Also -- Screen rotation does work under XFree86 4.0.x, although without acceleration. Getting the pen drivers working with a rotated display is trivial after I fix the other problems.
Thanks !!
---John
