This isn't using your IR port, put it works just fine on the 1200.

Works great. I also went one step further and made a component so I could call the Monster Clicker from a website. I've got my 1200s running wireless and I made a little HTML based remote control that I can hit from anywhere in the house. Also wrote a program to download the TV listings from the web, strip out the advertisments and junk then store in a database for custom display on the 1200 via a webpage. Pretty slick. My wife thinks I'm a schmuck when I do things like this.
(I also used a component to control some X-10 stuff hooked up to lights - controlled via the web)
