I have a running win98 system up and running. Only thing is that I can't seem to get sound. I installed the VIA AC'97 Audio controller(WDM), but still can't play wav files. When I try to redetect, every once in a while I get a soundblaster or compatible card to show up. Any suggestions? When I use sound recorder to play wav's I get "cannot record or play back because a sound card device is not installed".

I've tried removing the all sound devices and shutting down and redetecting.

Any suggestions?
