I have read all the other threads on this topic and I am still having problems. I have removed the case and heat sink (metal shield). When I boot after resting the BIOS I see the red Compaq logo screen and get a memory count and then an error message 162-System Options Not Set. Then the machine reboots I see the red Compaq logo but nothing else and then the screen say starting MSN. Between the logo screen and the starting MSN screen I sometimes see a blinking cursor for half a second or less. I have pushed the Compaq button at various times on all these screens. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
