I'm not sure this URL will work, but I found IA-1's "refurbished" listed on Compaq's web site:

Man, I tried to order one today. I called instead of doing it on the web. I asked if there were any still available and the guy said "Yeah"! I said I wanted to order one and he hung up on me. Being that I was in hurry I figured I'd drop it and order one tonight. I just went out to their website and they're gone!! A message state that they 'may' be sold out. What a crock!!

Hey guys try going to www.ubid.com. I picked up a new one the other day for just $89 bucks. If you go the to section Computers->Desktops->Internet Appliances you will usually find two listings for them. One auction is for new units and the other is for refurbished ones. I should get mine Monday or Tuesday. It should fit nicely with my two 3com Audrey's :) Hope this helps...

Tialoc, I also waited until they were listed as out of stock on the site. When I called to inquire if they'd be getting any more in, however, the guy checked and it turned out they still had a few. It's worth a call.

Tiger is currently out of the IA-1s, but we have NEW units for $129.99.

Also, we currently have about 150 "returned" units (not tested, re-opened, or anything).
I don't know yet if we can return them to Compaq or not, and I'm thinking not.

If we can't I plan to put them up for sale on TigerDirect's site - NO RETURNS, NO GUARANTEES, NO PROMISES.
What will the magic price be?

AudreyLover,

The magic price for me would be $19.61 -- same price as for the "parts" audreys (which I got 3 of). If you were to sell the IA-1s at $19.61, I would most likely pick up 3 of them - hoping to get at least one functional unit out of the 3 and a backup keyboard or other parts. If the IA-1s went for $30, I would probably pick up 2. If they were to go for $50 or more, I probably wouldn't buy one - as that is too much for not being sure of what you are getting.

I wouldn't pay more than $20. At this point they could all have the alternate BIOS on them. With no returns or exchanges, we may be dumping garbage for them. (Other companies charge to haul old PCs away).
I already have one nearly useless IA-1.

Yeah...$20 seems close to right, plus maybe a deal on shipping, cause I'm betting that at least one of those 150 IA-1's is the one I exchanged due to it's screen being smashed to oblivion when I opened the box...(and I'm still being charged double for it, despite Tiger's cust support people assuring me it'll be taken care of...might be time to call the Credit Card Company...not that I'm bitter... :) )
