Stuck with crappy SDDR-31 - any solution to creating bootable CF?

I've discovered that ranish won't see this SDDR-31, so I can't create a bootable CF from my win98 box. I have access to a recent Linux box though. Is there any other way to get a bootable jailbait image on my 32mb CF card?

I don't know how recent your recent linux is, but with Red Hat Linux 7.2, I just plugged the SDDR-31 in, and copied the image to it using 'dd if=ia.img of=/dev/sda', worked great.

if you have access to a laptop, a pcmcia cf->ata adapter is cheap and on my 98se laptop it mounted (with just pnp drivers, i got it 2nd hand w/o software) as a fixed disk (vs. a removable disk) and 98se treated it just the same, showed up in fdisk and everything... however, with my sddr-31 (which went back to the store for a full refund) i couldn't fdisk or anything because it mounted as a removable drive.

so, if you know somebody/have your own laptop, i'd say it's the way to go. i figured since jailbait is under the 16mb limit, i just put it on the cf with a basic set of dos tools and an image proggy (dolly.exe). then i booted my ia1 off the cf, dolly'd the image to the internal flash and now i use my cf for extra storage.

goodluck
