Visual Differences between V1 and V2 IA-1?
Are there any differences noticeable by inspection between a virgin V1 OS and a virgin V2 OS?

I just received my second IA-1, from of all places, Compaq Factory Outlet. They had *1* in stock when I called randomly. Anyway, Is there a way to tell for sure whether a virgin IA-1 has v1 or v2 installed? I ask this because the first one displays a photo image when you "power it off" via the keyboard, but the second one just shuts off completely.

Anyone know the answer?

It's v2 that has no picture by default - so it sounds like you have v2. You can also tell because v2 has the logon as guest option, the 'show more options' option under 'Page Options', etc.

To tell for sure do this:

When it tries to dial hit cancel
Select 'my problem isn't listed and I want to contact tech support'
Select 'System information'
It will tell you your version on that screen.

I noticed the Refurb units for $99.99 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?sku=C860-A783 have only usb ports

The new units for $129.99, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?sku=C860-IA1 have listed in the "second" input/output section:

Two (2) PS/2 connections for keyboard and mouse

Is this true? It looks like a mistake.
