Will not boot with CF in slot

OK. I've been able to successfully get into the BIOS no problem.

Can boot the IA-1, enter BIOS, and get to the BOOT ORDER option.

Being bad at following directions, I figured out that I have to seat the CF card to boot the thing and add it to the boot order. I also enabled all the IDE devices in the list within BIOS.

However, upon putting a CF card in the slot the machine will not boot.

I remove it and it's fine.

The CF card does seem to get pretty darn warm when it's in there however.

I've tried a 8 and 32 meg card. The 32 Meg has the jailbait image on it 8 meg is blank just used to throw in there.

Anyone have any suggestions or is my IPAQ have a problem with the CF slot?

thanks

BNB

As I look at my pitiful opened Ipaq, I'm shedding a few tears.

I'm look over the board and I'm thinking the internal sandisk must be under that doo-hickey that's on the left of the board (looking at the back) with a yellow piece of tape or something wrapping it.

Or is it somewhere else?

Hell, I'd throw my Sandisk into the internal slot if it's possible. Or is the internal Sandisk some other type of animal that can't be replaced?

OK. Please no flames.

If anyone encounters a problem like me, check to ensure that none of the CF pins have been smooshed together so they are touching.

Somehow a sloppy insertion of the CF caused it to force 2 of the pins together.... causing my problem.

Undid them and it works now!
