Ok...I just got my IA-1 working with Rasmus's new linux image. Did not have one problem at all. Now my only question is this. With this linux image is swapping done to the internal flash or to just the memory? I know flash chips have a limited number of writes, so is it possible to make all of the file systems read only or will this cause problems?

Type: mount

You will see that the only real filesystem that is there is read-only. Nothing gets written to the flash while the thing is running. Also means that you can't store bookmarks and stuff and have it survive a reboot, of course.
