Oh yeah, I agree with your sentiments 100%!
I have a hackable unit but my heart goes out to those with unhackables. There is a lot of effort and speculation being made about modifying the hardware and that's all well and good, but what we need is something the "average joe" can do. And what could be easier than:
* CTRL-U
* Update the info pointing to Hacker-X's site
* Make the update to download new IA-1 hack from web site
* Viola! The unhackable unit becomes hackable because the BIOS has been updated!
(Note: the downloaded code would run a procedure that updates the system's BIOS with hackable code)
This would require NO hardware adjustments at all on neither the hackable nor unhackable. It's a complete solution to a great start. We need some software hacksfirst, not hardware hacks.
