I compiled the version of Midori Linux from Bob Dougherty and Ingo Pashke (http://vischeck.homeip.net/m4i/ and http://tengu.homeip.net/midori/) and it works on the IA-1 almost right out of the box. I still need to make some changes to it, but hopefully I can post an image soon for those that are interested.

Karouser, do you by any chance, have a copy of Midori from Bob Dougherty? The URL doesn't seem to work anymore and I'd like to get my hands on that version since it apparently supports Kawasaki Ethernet adapters. If you do, can you e-mail or I can set up FTP space? TIA!

well four compiles later and not a clean one I find I need to install a vm machine and load an older version of red hat as I am running a modern Mandrake install :-0.
It seem to segfault every which way as I try to compile and then goes to error messages will keep trying but need sleep for my two day jobs will tell about it again after linux world expo and can talk to some insiders at compact I hope to see you all there ( I might bring my IA-1 With me see you soon

If someone will host it, I will send them a Bob Dougherty image that works on the IA-1. Who will host it?

I'm working on a version that suits my needs better (some server capabilities) and I'll post it when it's ready.

After having my email rejected on 4 different mail servers, I decided to put it on an angelfire page.

http://www.angelfire.com/linux/ia1midori/midori.img

The connection hung at the very end of the upload, but my ftp client reports the file size correctly. Let me know if I need to upload it somewhere else.

Junkgui, this image is a great deal like the jailbait image. It uses cramfs and has similar apps (Netscape, XMMS, vncviewer, micq, and busybox). I can't say much about the stability because I haven't used it much.

Consider yourself mirrored. :)

http://www.numberporn.com/ia-1/

It's under the Linux Files category.

Though I recommend everyone try to pull from Angelfire first, but Angelfire usually shuts down file servers *quick*, so it'll be on my place too.

Wow, that was quick. I checked last night and it said my angelfire account was disabled for TOS violation. Thanks for the help DGMage.

Karouser, I cannot email you the file because I don't have a mail server that will let me email it. However, DGMage was nice enough to put it on his site at http://numberporn.com/ia-1/

What version of midori are you trying to compile? As I said in my first post, I used the version already modified for the i-opener.

I think I read that they used redhat 6 and debian potato for development. You might try one of those.

Midori does compile under rh6.2 correctly (worked for me), with little fiddling. Supposedly rh7.2 should also work (don't know personally).
When I did my flash image I pulled parts from midori and had very few problems. Though you might want to update
a few of the pieces included in midori to more current version (busybox).

well I am back from linux world expo was ok but the compact people I know and met couldnt help much as they havent worked on any of the IA-1's met some one who worked on the tech support for them tho and will email them to see if I can get any info and or white pages. Over all it was pretty good show but MUCH smaller this year. well looks like I will have to install an older version of linux in a vm and try again ( no transmeta presence at the show )
