ok So I was able to successfully modify the ia-1 so I can change the boot order to my 128mb CF card. I followed the instructions to make a bootable CF card and I plugged it into my IA-1 and I get a message "Operating system not found on any devices. Press any key to try again."
What os are you using? If you are using win2k winme then it is harder. If you are using win98 and you used the sys command then you need to use ranish again and set the partition to be bootable again as the sys command seems to unset the bootable flag.
I am using win2k and I can't get ranish to see anything at all or run at all. it seems to quickly run and reset the command window to the ranish command help list.
You can not use ranish under win2k. It needs an OS without a HAL. If you can use ranish under win98 it will work. Otherwise I would look for an image that makes a doe bootable 128mg CF. I can make you one if you need it.
