Ok everyone I got a copy of Beos 4.5 from a friend today, and I would like to attempt to make an image for the ia-1. Are there any instructions anyone can point me two about making images that can be used to flash the ia-1? Thanks.

Well, we're working on finding the BeIA Dev Kit, which should allow us to make custom BeIA images for the IA-1, as are on the clipper. That might be a little better than trying to throw BeOS4.5 on there.

Hi Plook,

I made my image by installing the BeOS on my desktop system and simply deleting all the files I could while keeping it somewhat functional. It was largely a matter of trial and error - delete a few files and reboot - if it booted up ok, delete more and reboot again. Actually, I'd move the files to the desktop instead of deleting them so if it wouldn't boot, I could boot from the CD, mount the drive and move the files back. BTW, would you be interested in trading a copy of 4.5 for a copy of 5.0 (pro)? I had thrown out my old BeOS CD's once I got 5...
