I flashed a 16mb cf card with the latest midori-new.img. The ia1 boots fine but then presents a few odd errors which result in a hung boot. Most notably are the errors: "cramfs: wrong magic" and "Warning: unable to open an initial console" and "Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel."
Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong or how to correct this?
I think your problem is that the image is intended to be installed on the internal sandisk instead of an external card. The kernel looks to boot from hda which is the internal flash card. The only easy way to correct this is write the image to the ia-1 internally.
Ok, this is weird. I've started getting the "Warning: unable to open initial console" error on my builds of Midori using the build package. This happens even when building the non-modified package. I've made ones before that have worked fine, I'm not real sure what's up here. Any ideas?
I'm not sure what's wrong there, but if it was working before i'd try to see if something has changed (BIOS settings, build environment, ia-1 hardware etc) and experiment with other stuff to see what works and what doesn't.
Ok, figured out the issue by reading up on the I-Opener Midori page. I needed to be doing all of the untarring and compilation of the build image in root, I was doing it on my own account.
