RealPlayer 8 for linux runs okay on midori and video looks okay on the screen but the sound is totaly messed up. RealPlayer can be downloaded and real.com or http://vischeck.homeip.net/m4i/pub/extras/ from the m4i site. The sound is mostly static and terribly distorted sound, I cant seem to tweek it to do any better. Has anyone had any luck with realplayer, I think that if the sound worked this would be yet another cool thing to do with the ia1... Any ideas?
can't remember if it was Linux or QNX where I read this, but some people have reported success with lowering the audio levels to about 65 or 75 using the sound mixer utilities. hope this helps...
I tried lowering the volume and the other value "PCM" I think (I cant remember) to 70 and it still is really bad, it isn't just static it is the sound from the file I am playing just totally distorted... it's weird because XMMS and mpg123 work so well.
I have been reading up on real player and it seems that we may need to use esd to get it to sound correctly, I tried rp9 alpha but couldnt get the installer to run... I guess I will try esd later.
