Hey, qDot here (formerly DGMage, I'd converted my nick pretty much everywhere but here, but it was starting to confuse people so I finally changed here too)...

Anyways, I'd really like to get a Windows 98 Microdrive tutorial for ia1hacking.com. I get quite a few questions/complaints about the Win9x info on here being pretty fragmented, and it'd be nice to have a centralized tutorial so we don't have constant pirating of the Win9x image on here too.

I could write one, but my experience with the microdrive hasn't been too stellar. With only 30Mb of real RAM, Win98 has to swap. If you don't have any swap, things get really strange. Unfortunately, the drive will "hiccup" periodically during swaps, freezing things for a moment. This isn't too bad if you are surfing the web, but it can cause skips in the music if you are listening to MP3's.
