Ok I have Midori installed. I'm not a Linux guy but I do know how to get around in Linux.
Is there a newbie FAQ anywhere. I'm at the prompt but can't do anything.
How do I get intto X or whatever GUI is on this system.

I'm using WildWildWes's newest release BTW.

/Shane

Ok I think I found one problem. I get this error when booting up

sbin/portmap: error in loading shared libraries
spawing shell return to root with ctl-alt-f1

but that doesn't work I get invalid keycode when hitting any of the grey keys at the top.

I did notice one thing when doing a mount, I kept getting alot of read only errors and root and several other mounts or partitions
I'm not sure of the correct term are 'ro'. So maybe my internal SanDisk is set to read only. I've been looking at the mkcramfs stuff but it looks like that is run from another linux box or something.

Just guessing any ideas?

/Shane

Something is wrong there. One possiblity is that your image is bad. You could try downloading it again or I can post an md5 hash when I get home. Also, radarman said he had a problem similar to that with his system he modified to use a faster processor.

Hi, I have 2 newbie midori questions:

1 - where is x started from? I would like to disable it by default to run fbi

2 - where do you recommend i create my samba mount points (/usr) ?

Thanks.

X is started in /config/XFinit

You could erase that in /tmp/config and then freeze to stop it from loading.

For samba, I would make a directory in /tmp and use that.

I'm using fbi in the midori distro... however, the --timeout n parameter doesn't seem to be working. Is there another (easy) way to create a slide show?

Thanks.

I don't use mine for a picture frame, but a lot of people are using xli for that.
