Midori decompressed
Is it possible to get Midori running on a microdrive, without cramfs?

My machine seems determined to screw up the Midori and Jailbait boots using the onboard flash. It appears to be related to clock speed, though I am at a loss as to why. I would still like to run Midori, though, and I am trying to find a way to get it run from a microdrive (which will boot FreeBSD/Linux just fine)

Is it possible to put a decompressed version of Midori on a regular ext2 partition? Alternately, could I create a specifically sized partition and dd an image to that partition to "simulate" the onboard flash? Or, lastly, what I really like is the entirely graphical nature of Midori. Is it possible to load a regular linux distro, and simply make the appropriate changes to create the same effects?

I'm pretty sure it would be possible to use something other than cramfs, but you'd probably need to use something besides the internal flash for storage. Also, midori isn't really all that different from regular linux. It's just customized somewhat for devices such as this. You could do something similar with another linux.
