I have a compaq IA-1 on order and would like to get the drivers for win 98/me...

I have the video, but need, sound and modem...

Any others?

I have the windows driver for the sound card. It works well and also enables the microphone to work. I have a reference driver for the modem - the modem works fine and connects well, but windows still shows a pci communication device in the device manager. So I don't know the proper driver to use although this works well.

If I had broadband, I would make them available. I have a little geocities site I could put them on? Or would I quickly reach the transfer limit? Does anyone want to host them?

Whomever has win98se, maybe they have the proper driver. I have used programs to try to identify it, but all it will tell me using the ati3 and other codes is that it is a lucent modem. I have seen something about an ASKEY modem in sandra sisoft, but their site asks for specific codes from the modem. Anyone have them?

can you be more specific about which files, say for instance:

C:\Windows\System32\mdm*.inf
C:\Windows\System32\mdm*.drv

i've just gotten into the BIOS on my IA-1, and i'd like to save the MSN Companion 1.0 (WinCE) software before i go forward updating it to MSN Companion 2.0, and finally Win98SE. so, i'm not far along enough, just yet, to determine exactly which files it will need. but, i'm getting closer...

You misunderstand, there aspecific drivers you will need to run... They DO NOT come with windows, otherwise why would I ask for them?

I hope that it is my WIFE that does not get jealous, with my IA-1 and 5 audreys.


Anyways, if you guys are thinking of backing up any msn companion images, please see my next post about it.

But about the drivers, I will post them on my geocities account. Or will that kill it? Oh well. We'll see.

Geocities will let me upload the files, but I guess since they are bigger than 1mb, it won't display them - guess it has deleted them. I even tried renaming them to a .jpg extension. Oh well.

If you have ICQ, let me know, and I can send them to you that way.

If that isn't good, I might just have to setup a temporary ftp on my computer so you can get them.
