If so, how do I set it up? Ifconfig only show the lo device.. :(

(In case you haven't guessed yet..I'm not quite fluent with linux but I intend to be. I'm really getting sick of MS.

You might be more specific - Linksys has two USB 10/100 adapters. Midori does support the USB100TX, but I'm not sure if it supports the USB100M. The former is a large gray box with a red stripe around one end. The latter is the size of a USB connector, with a little pop-up door on one end where you stick the ethernet cable.

I found the "network" script and tried starting eth0, but no dice. Is there anything I
need to do to load a driver for the usb nic? Or can anyone recommend a nic that work.

I've got one of those, too.

I've been keeping an eye on linux-usb.org, and I just checked. Looks like they've solved this problem.

Cool. Now that I got the patch file...what do I do with it?

Sorry, but I've never "patched" anything before.

Well, you can start off looking at the kernel howto at www.linuxdoc.org:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO.html

Alternatively, I plan on trying this out, and maybe some other folks do, too. I can send you a kernel compile in the next few days, and you can integrate it into the build kit.

Or, you might even be able to use someone else's image. My image is pretty tailored at this point, but it might work for you. I'll let you know when I've got a new one.
