I'm using WildWildWes' Midori image and it's my favorite version of linux so far. Thanks, www :)
Does anyone know how to light up the LEDs when an instant message comes in?
I know there is an LED control program, but I haven't used it yet. I need to be able to run it when an event occurs in Everybuddy. Can this be done or would I have to rewrite the Everybuddy program?
You can do this in Everybuddy already. When you have your contacts setup and are online, you can set a trigger for the contact that will run the led program. There are 3 seperate programs in my version; netlight, maillight and powerlight. I don't know if you have those or not, but open a terminal window and check. The other way to do this would be to type ia1led with an option.
Thanks. I found the event triggers in Everybuddy. But it seems they only happen when a user comes online. I guess there's no way to light up the incoming mail (middle) light when a user sends me an instant message. I tend to keep the screen backlight off most of the time so I don't see IMs come in.
On another note... Has anyone gotten the lights to work with a POP3 email checker, like biff? I'm sort of a linux newbie so if someone has a command line for biff that would work, I'd appreciate it.
