PPP How-To
How do you set up PPP with midori_3.img

Hello,

I was able to boot the Midori_3.img file from the compact flash with the help of Neptune.
Now I am trying to get the modem to dial to my isp.
I'm a linux newbie so I gathered a couple of books regarding PPP and they talk about using the Chat program in conjunction with PPPD to get the PPP connection started. I cannot find the chat program in Midori. Can anyone show me How to set up PPP?

I was also browsing http://ia1.egodram.net/ and I came across Julio's image and I see that a script was created to have an option in the Midori setup to configure PPP. Would I be able to use this script with the Midori_3.img and the build kit?

Since I had to hack the Midori_3.img to boot from the compact flash card, I guess if I had to use Julio's image I would also need to hack it to run from the compact flash. Would I hack it the same way I did the Midori_3.img?

thanks,
ChillyWilly

why are you worried about overwriting the internal flash mem? just use dolly and back it up and you will always be able to restore it to its original state if need be...will save you tons of trouble modifying all these builds to boot off the cf card..just the easiest way IMHO
