cf-> ide connector help

I don't know if this will help anyone but I came across a compaq laptop ide adapter that is the same as a cf pin layout. I tried it but the Ia-1 won't boot, so I'm assuming that the tracing isn't correct, but i thought that if someone had one laying around it might help them if they knew more about it than me.
