RandR - Resize and Rotate (modified 0 times) erroneus Profile http://www.xfree86.org/~keithp/talks/randr/randr/ The web site above discusses a new extension to XFree86 that allows for dynamic resizing and rotaion of the display. I recall questions about people who were interested in mounting the display from the ceiling of their automobiles to serve some useful purpose. The problem was that the display would need to appear normal and that was essentially impossible without a great deal of work... and even then maybe simply impossible. RE:RandR - Resize and Rotate (modified 0 times) Root Profile Thanks, I've been waiting exactly for these news. unfourtantly I am rather busy with school right now, I hope someone else who is interested in this will look into updating X on the midori distribution. looks like randr is built into both the latest tinyx as well as xfree86 4.3. rotating the display will be useful in a car, as well as hanging the compaq upside down from a kitchen cabinet as proposed by someone earlier. root. 10-23-2002 22:39:41
