Anyone point me into the right direction

I am just looking to have email, use Microsoft word, Access the Web, and use some IM Services like MSN, AOL, Yahoo.. IS there an easy way to do that? Can I use Linux to do that and make it work with what I need?

well, i don't think Micro$losh has released Word for Linux (yet), but you might be able to use parts of Star Office / Open Office on Linux. fitting it all on the stock SanDisk flash chip inside the IA-1 might be a problem, though. your best bet might be to load Jailbait or Midori Linux on the IA-1, and an X-windows server on a networked Linux machine, which would also host the Star/Open Office application. then, using the Linux IA-1 as a thin client / X-terminal, access the storage and compute power of the networked Linux box from the IA-1.

Why not load midori/jailbait and use VNC to connect to a windows desktop running vncServer?\

Why not put a hard drive in it and the i-opener bios, install windows 98, word, yahoo, msn and whatever you want. Then buy a usb modem, because the i-opener bios will not let the cf reader or modem work. You can also buy a usb ethernet card for network access.

I've done it to mine and I love it, I also have extra parts.

If you need someone to do it for you I would do it for a fairly small fee.
