Wanted: (dead or alive) BLUE IA-1's (clippers)

I know these are hard to come by, but I'd like to take a stab at kitting parts for adding the ethernet adapter to my normal IA-1's. Anyone have a spare clipper (BLUE) IA-1 they would be will to sell or trade?

Thanks,
radarman

I have a few.. What are you willing to pay for one? What do you want to trade?

I've seen them go on eBay for ~$95-100 with $15 shipping (average). I'd like to stay in that ballpark if possible.

As for trades, I have a number of goodies. I have the IA-1's with the BIOS socketted, a 10Gb 2.5" Toshiba hard drive with 44pin -> 40pin + PWR cable harness (never got around to wiring the IDE connector - but the drive works in a standard PC), and a netgear EA101 ethernet adapter which works well in Linux.

Thanks for the link, but I managed to win one on eBay for a *LOT* less :) Once my blue IA-1 arrives, I plan to do a parts diff, and I'll post the results. Of course, I would imagine that once the ethernet controller is known, there will be an app note that describes the analog hardware.

Anyone know the exact part number of the ethernet controller?

Ok, I'm still looking. The ethernet option is more involved than I imagined. In addition to the controller, there are a *bunch* of passives that aren't labeled. Next step is the app notes, which may show a base schematic. As it stands, if you want ethernet - go for the blue IA-1's.

They "may" be unhackable. If you get a virgin unit, they prefer to boot from the CF slot, so you can flash your image over. Unfortunately, if you clear the NVRAM, they appear to lose the ability to boot from CF. I wonder if the ability to boot from CF was a mistake (to Compaq)?
