ia-1 as answering machine?

New Messageia-1 as answering machine? (modified 0 times) rant
Profile
I was wondering if anyone has done any work to make the msn messager/ia-1 an answering machine.
Does anyone know what the capabilities of the built-in modem are, and if it is usable from
Linux (or is it a win-modem)?

Even if the internal one it is not usable, for a modest price it seems one could use an
external USB unit to do the job (eg. http://www.hotmp3gear.com/usbmodem.htm ).

Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions?
