| CF = compact flash. The IO port on the side of the IA-1 will accept a standard compact flash device, allowing you to load alternate operating systems on it. There are a tremendous number of threads here regarding this, but in short, you will need to find or create a bootable compact flash card, copy the MSN image and a disk to disk copier utility to the card, and overwrite the software on your machine.
If you haven't messed with your system's BIOS yet, don't - a virgin clipper will boot a compact flash card if it detects one.
Otherwise, you might consider trading with someone who has an IA-1 with the MSN software preloaded. | |
