I have been trying for 2 days now to get back into the bios of my ia-1 after I set everything. Evertime I do a hard bios reset, I can change everything *except* boot order. CF card is in the slot and is dos bootable, but the ia-1 doesn't seem to see it even though all ide devices are enabled. I try to get back into the bios after a hard reset and it will either give me a keyboard error or just hang until i release the key and then boot into CE. Am I doing something wrong here??
Even though it is dos bootable it may not be IA-1 bootable.
How are you formatting it?
You can't change the boot order to boot from the CF slot until you have a card the IA-1 recognizes as bootable.
The info is on here for making the card bootable.
Keep trying, you will get it eventually. It is probably a small detail holding you back.
If you can get into the bios you can boot from CF unless the slot is somehow damaged.
It took me a while to get it and it has been so long since I last did it, it would take me a few tries to boot from CF again.
