cant access bios

Hi

i have a blue Compaq IA1 without a network integrated.
the linux boot image eltorito is installed.
i want to install linux via a cf card.
but the cf slot is diabled so i have to go to the bios and active the secondary ide controller.

i tried to reset the bios with the jumper.
when i plug the ia1 in, i see the memory count and the failure message, then the ia1 resets and starts eltorito
hitting the compaq key or ctrl-u does not help to get into the bios.

any idea how to get into the bios?
there must be a way because the eltorito image is on the internal sandisk

Problem solved.
i had to shorten the bios reset jumper for some hours to get into the bios.

for information :

where did you find jumper to reset bios on blue IA ?
I've the same one , but with NIC interface, and actually I don't have been to reset BIOS,
but, it's good for 'knowledge base' of IABBS !!

hi

i found the bios reset jumper at the same place as in the other IA1s.
just beside the bios chip.

but i have a new probleme.
when i reset the bios for about one day, sometimes the compaq logo disapears at startup and i could enter the bios by pressing the compaq key, while the memory count.
but sometime the compaq logo is still there and i couldnt access bios.

when the compaq logo disapears the memory count appears the the very left upper corner,
with the compaq logo the memory count is deeper and more right an with an other font.

anyone have seen this before?

how could i get in the bios everytime i reset the bios?
