Hello all ( not sure how many IA-1 hackers still come here ),

In any case I have had some thoughts for some time now and have just today got out of lazy mode to share them and hopefully spark some debate, get the juices simmering and liven up a calm area.

That I am aware of, and not reading every post in this section, what my ideas go around has not been chatted about.

My Goal :

Using the addition of HDD to MSN Companion and Windows XP, find a way to add to available Ram to run bigger and better apps up to and including Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Bold goal you say, can't be done I can hear others say........well maybe that is true then again maybe not. If it's not explored we will never know.

Ok anyway let me kick off this debate to say, I do believe the Ram size can be added to.....tho not with everyday average Dimm slots.

I believe the way to go is to piggyback ram chips... What???? You can stack ram chips?????

Yes it can be done and many many Windows CE devices can map 256MB and more

This is a link to a Stacked Ram Upgrade for Compaq Ipaq to 256 MB

Now my other thought the O/s XP Media Center or XP+ clone(Media Center Clone like Xlobby or myHTPC )

If the Ram can be added to then by setting aside ram for video use ( reserve ram an old 95/98 trick ), then many more things like the Microsoft Plus! Fish Tank screen saver will indeed work.........

Ok I would be very very interested in knowning what the last of the MSN guys think?

Just a simple caveman who fell asleep on some ice.....Your modern World frightens and confuses me
