I know that we can use a 'broadband' adapter for the compaq ia-1's msn 2.0 image. I tried using a peracom 10mbit nic but it doesn't seem to work. Anybody tried using the msn 2.0 image and know which nic work? Thanks.

I worked for Radio Shack at the time these things were orginally sold. If I remeber correctly, it was the linksys usb-nic adapter was the one that worked. I have also done some developmental work on CE, and the linksys LNE100 or whatever it is is sounding familar. Either that, or the D-link. You have to remeber, this image is pretty old, you need to be looking for older usb/nics, not usb 2.0 Get an older revision off ebay, only be about $10. You could also look on the Microsoft website on CE development stuff, and see which one is supported.

linksys usb10tx or usb100tx has been confirmed to work with ia-1 and ia-2 using msn ver 2.0 any usb ethernet that have pegaus chipset will works
