Well, I finally got around to converting my IA (Running Midori) to a picture frame setup, running XLI '-onroot' with pictures loaded from the CF. Two quick question though...

1) How do I hide the mouse pointer? This thing doesn't like booting with USB devices plugged in, so I'd really hate to have to: Turn it on, wait for boot, plug in mouse, move mouse, unplug mouse, re-hang picture. I've looked through the preferences file but there's nothing about disabling the pointer (or setting a default location) in it or in the icewm.org manual.

2) Does anyone have a 'random picture' script they can share? I've found bits and fragments, including a Random function for a shell script, but I'm not familiar enough with bash/sh to know what to do with it. If someone can post a full example I should be able to modify it though.

Thanks!

hi

you can see the random script at the following link

http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?action=ShowPost&Board=MSNCompanion&Post=467&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session=

just start your script this another one existing on the standart midori image file and add the xli command.

to execute this script with a random list , create a file which contain all the image file name and just pass it as 1st parameter of your new script.

For hidding mouse pointer, just check the icewm web site ... parameter like hiddmousepointer=yes
you can do this but I never succefully hid pointer and unhid it when mouse move is detected

br,
