Other usb-wireless adapter support in Midori?

I have an IA-1 running midori and working flawlessly with the USB100TX wired adapter.

The problem is that we have recently moved to new digs which make running a wire from the place I want to keep the unit a tad difficult. I also run win98 on it from a microdrive with a SMC2662W (802.11b) which tends to be very slow (I think it's the microdrive). I have tried to setup the wireless adapter in midori but have had no success which can be attributed to the fact that this adapter is in fact an ATMEL chipset based adapter and Midori needs a prism chipset.

Is there any way to get a version of midori that will work with the SMC? I am a complete novice in linux and such but find the midori install far superior in terms of response and would like to use that as much as possible. Especially since, then, I can keep the machine on for longer periods as well...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

hi

to insert a new driver into midori image : very simple

d/l the amtel driver, and compil it on a plateform with the same kernel.
copy the amtel driver, in general file named .o, into the same directorie
like the other .o files
to 'start' this driver :

insmod driver.o
lsmod (to see if it 'run' fine)

and modify the network config file into the midori, and after modification
don't miss to 'freeze' the configuration into the midori image file

Good luke !!

hi

there's wireless lan driver for ATMEL chip at http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/atmelwlandriver
It shouldn't be difficult to integrate the driver into midori.

Personally I have compiled and inetegrated wlan-ng-0.21pre21(http://www.linux-wlan.org/) into
m4ia-2.3pre1 (http://m4i.homeip.net/) using the build kit which is also available at the m4i web site.
I needed new driver to support my DWL-122 USB WLAN adapter.
