Just picked one up at Circuit City. I have it torn down to the mainboard. It has all the standard makings of a PC:
IDE (connector not soldered in)
PCI (also not soldered in)
it boots off a 64MB SanDisk card
I found the "Super I/O" chip which also appears to hold the BIOS (American Megatrends is printed on the chip)
Intel 830 chipset
LOTS OF POTENTIAL HERE!!
I don't pretend to be an electronics whiz (I fix PCs for a living, not hack them) but, I CAN supply high resolution images of the board if anyone thinks it's possible.
I was very supprised to see the lack of interest in hacking the MSNTV boxes, heck, you guys are trying to hack a lazer globe device by talking to its IR Reciever! Are they that tough? I haven't been able to locate one forum that even mentioned (other than here and that was one post) trying to hack these things.
Please let me know, I may have to return it and get my $200 back... I'd rather hack it....
Thanks,
Ray
