I'm ashamed to say I can't even get out of the gate on this one! I've got my iPaq with high hopes, I've read all the posting and downloading part.exe, dolly, and the linux img. I've got a 32 meg cf ready to go. My problem is I don;t know how to get a win98 boot disk to see the pcmcia slot on my notebook. My notebook is running win2K so I thought I'd try to do the whole thing from a floppy. Can anyone help?

I had the same problem,
two different PCMCIA->CF adapters, both worked perfectly from Win98
but I couldn't get a bootable image no matter what.
So I got an IDE->CF adapter from PC-Engines ($20 + $3.50 mailing)
a tiny board which plugs into the IDE cable.
I setup on a DOS box, boot from floppy, use a ZIP-disk
to hold the linux images. Ranish partition-manager and dolly worked
to dump the image on there and it worked.

Before spending the extra $$$, you might want to create a dual boot system using win98 and 2000. This may require using partition magic if you are running NTFS. Once you get done intsalling Win98, check INT 13 unit and removable in: control panel-> system-> disk drives.
