Internal Sandisk MSCompanion Image Corrupted

Help! I tried to back up my internal Sandisk (MSCompanion2 on an IAOne) to my bootable (DOS) external CF using Dolly, and hosed my internal image instead with no backup created. With Dolly in a "Dolly" directory on the external 32 MB CF, I (stupidly) typed "dolly hd128: hd129:ipaq2.img". Dolly said she was successful, but no image file was created on my external CF, and the internal CF is broken--no boot. I know many of you don't care about MS Companion, but, heck, I get 6 months free, and I like the Ipaq! Can anyone help me restore an MS Companion internal image, and also help me understand dolly and the hard drive numbering/lettering schemes out there for Bios, DOS, and INT13? I have a broadband connection so downloading an image file is no problem. Thanks in advance.

- one way: boot Jailbait via the external CF slot, then NFS/Samba mount a remote directory and reflash (using the cat command) to your internal CF using the wince image...

- another is to use a bootable DOS CF w/dolly.exe and the wince img - you can then just dolly the image onto the internal flash...

- the wince image is available, but i don't have the URL handy..

don't fear -- i backed up my MSN 2.0 image before playing with Win98SE and Jailbait Linux, and restored it today. Then, used the tech support screen with the ERASE keyword (thanks, Ranman) i'm in the process of backing up the 'cleansed' MSN 2.0 image, right now. i'll post a message back here when i've got it on my hard disk.

Keith721--Thank you!! Now for the really stupid part. How do I use you ICQ number? I'll try to find out myself if you're busy, but I'm a stupid old man of 55 and it will take some time searching FAQ's! Anyway, it's very nice to know my image is out there...somewhere. Thanks so much!

P.S. I now know that hd129: is the INTERNAL CF, and I sucessfully loaded the flyingbuttmonkeys linux image onto the internal CF. I really want MS Companion though (I know, I know), and will proceed from your image.

hey, klunk -- no problem. i'm just a 43-year old hacker, who likes to twiddle bits'n'bytes, and tear things apart to see how they work (as if anybody hasn't figured that out, yet )

if you have ICQ on your system, make sure it's activated. then, post your number here, or if you'd prefer to remain private, email it to my message board nickname AT carolina DOT rr DOT com , and i'll start transferring the file to you, via ICQ...
