Windows 2000, CF-01, and Wireless Network

I'm having trouble looking for a PCI wireless network card that will work with my Windows 2000 desktop, so I can set up a wireless network with my cf-01. I haven't bought a wireless network card for the cf-01 yet either. Any recommendations? I'm not too concerned about speed, but I don't want to shell out too much...

I don't know what kind network you have currently.

1. If you use DSL or Cable modem, buy the Access Point with Cable/DSL Router($~200) and one 802.11b PC card($50 from justdeals.com).
2. If you already have the router or switch for the network, buy one access point($180~$160) and one 802.11b PC card.
3. If you plan only to conncent desktop and CF-01, buy Wireless USB Network Adapter(~$99) and one 802.11b PC card
4. Or buy one Instant Wireless PCI Adapter(~$40) and two 802.11b PC cards.

Previously I have Acer Warplink(paid $28) which doesn't have W2k driver. I have to use my old PPro and Win98 to make it work. Last week I bought 2 802.11b PC cards from uBid for $35 each(they were dumping them last week) and SMC access point from buy.com for $190 - $20 rebate - $20 coupon. The access point will plug in to my cable modem router, so my CF-01 can surf on the net without turn on other computer.

Any specific models that will work with my desktop? I only want to network my desktop and cf-01 to share files and surf the web. I'm stuck on a dialup for the next couple months until I get hooked up to the network at school, so I don't need a router. I prefer a PCI card unless USB's truly more economical. So far, the adapter made by DLink or Linksys seem to be the only option that I can find, but the idea of paying for that and 2 pc cards doesn't tickle me too much. I would've picked up the slower diamond kit, but they don't offer w2k drivers...

For the long term, just bite the bullet and buy the equipments using 802.11b. I thought I can live with Warplink, but no win2k driver is real killing me. Even I know the price will drop more after 802.11a products come up, but now the price is low enough to me to buy them. I think item 3 or 4 is the best solution for you. If you only want to network the desktop and cf-01 to share files and surf the web but not wirelss, there are more options you can pick(which are cheaper).
