Hi gang, I bought one of these CF-01's yesterday on ebay and I notice that the word toughbook is not even used on many of the listings. Is this a toughbook? I get the impression that the screen is not as readable in sunlight as the other toughboooks are. Is the CF-01 resistant to rain? Is it ruggedized?
Or did Panasonic just throw this word in for good marketing.
It is not a ruggedized unit. If Panasonic used the Toughbook brand to identify it, it must merely have been for marketing purposes. The CF-01 is more flimsy and delicate than a typical Thinkpad 7xx. However, it is still the most unique form factor machine at that price point (Casio's Fiva is much more expensive).
