Wireless networking revisited

Has anyone ever gotten the Proxim Symphony 4432 wireless lan cards to work in their CF-01? I was able to locate a couple of these on clearance at my local Best Buy and picked them up, not realizing the model number until I got them home (I was kinda in a rush; only had an hour on my lunch break for it). Based on an email exchange with bus_depot and on a previous thread on this bbs, it appears that I may have been too hasty in getting these, as they seem not to work with the CF-01.

Is this true? Has ANYONE gotten these particular cards to work? I haven't been able to locate the 4402 cards ANYWHERE, and I'm not interested in spending a few hundred bucks on wireless 802.11b cards (will need 3; 2 CF-01s and a laptop). I have only a week left to return them ... HELP!

I have just upgraded my WLAN and have the following for sale :
(1)Symphony 56k wireless modem/AP.
(2)Symphony PCI wirless adapter cards.(4402)
(2)Symphony PCMCIA wireless pc cards.
(1)Rangelan2 Windows CE wireless LAN adapter pc card.
This system works great on laptops, CF-01, Stylus 1200 or the SLT. Willing to sell seperatly if needed.

Well, to finally answer my own question:

The Proxim Symphony HomeRF (4432) card is a
3V *only* PC Card, and thus won't even FIT in the CF-01's PCMCIA socket (at least it didn't fit in either of mine). The Symphony Cordless card (4402) is a 5V PC Card, so it should work fine (and apparently does). Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any of those around anymore. Guess I'll go with the Linksys WPC-11 ...

For anyone else attempting to add PC Card peripherals to their CF-01s, keep this in mind: make sure your PC Card is 5V compatible, as 3V (or 3.3V, I think) PC Cards apparently can NOT be used!

The 4402 cards are still available at some Staples stores in their clearance section. I saw one yesterday for $29, since I already had one I didn't make the buy.
