Trying to get my GPS card to work!

I guess folks have unloaded their CF-01s for lack of being able to get them to do useful stuff, huh!? It seems a perfect use for the thing would be as a GPS for in-car use, but I can't get my BC-307 GPS (CF card in a PCMCIA adapter) to work in it: keep getting "no resources available" for I/O addressing or IRQs. Of course I have tried getting help from USGlobalSat but they have seen OTHER laptop/notebook PCs w/problems so just assume the CF-01 is one of those.

I've tried everything I could think of, including both Win98 and Win95 OSes, but never get past the "yellow exclamation point" for the card in Device Manager.

I'm troubled by this "no resources" issue particularly because the CF-01 has fully 3 (THREE!) card slots when docked--you'd think it would do anything, wouldn't you? Well, I've been using several different Wireless Networking PC Cards in it and they work just fine.

Hoping there are still a few CF-01 gurus around here to offer further advice to me. The thing sure is a pretty paperweight, still, but I'd like to put it to some useful purpose!!
