Nice On-Screen Keyboard

I've been on a search for a replacement on-screen keyboard, since the Pen Services keyboard doesn't work properly in IE 5.5. The Writing Palette in Pen Services somewhat solves the problem, but it just isn't as simple and quick as I'd like. In a previous thread I listed a few keyboard options, but I've found the best one yet. Check out http://www.geocities.com/keypad_tech/. It's small, simple and quick, and seems to work well. It is odd at first, but is surprisingly well thought out and complete.

And what about the OSK that comes with Pen Services? I don't mean the one that comes up with the "A" button, but rather the floating one that comes along with the writing palette. At least my copy of Pen Services 2.0 came with one...

You mean the one I mentioned in my first sentence? It has three main problems:
1. It's poorly designed
2. It lacks many keys
3. It doesn't work properly with IE 5.5

Okay, I'll give you that - it does lack escape, function, alt, arrow keys, etc... So, I suppose it doesn't full under the category of "Nice On-Screen Keyboard", but it will allow you to enter stuff into those "A"-less fields... (he says, grasping at straws...)

Come on now, you're being argumentative! (Actually, I love these discussions)

The keyboard that comes with Pen Services doesn't work in the "A"-less fields in Internet Explorer 5.5. It works with the version of IE that came with the CF-01, and it works on Opera, but not on IE 5.5. The Writing Palette provides a workaround, but like I mentioned before, it's not as simple as it should be.

Are you satisfied now?!

I'd love a copy of the keypad that oturn is talking about. But when I try to download it from the specified site it seems to be password protected and won't let me in. Anyone else having this problem? If anyone has a copy of the file, you you mind emailing it to me at tech@busdepot.com ? Thanks?

But it does work in the "A"-less fields... I'm not speaking of the keyboard that comes up when you press that "A" button, but rather the floating one found in the same directory as the writing palette. You have to run it and the icon stays on the tool bar, just like the writing palette...

It doesn't work for me, and others have had the same problem. Check out previous threads: "IE 5.5 on CF-01" & "web page entering".

In IE 5.5, I highlight the "A"-less field, and when I use the floating keyboard found in the same directory as the writing palette, I get nothing. Basically the cursor goes away from the field, and the text doesn't appear. This doesn't happen with the other pop-up keyboards I've tried.

Okay I'll concede, I'm going from memory. My current web pad uses CIC hwr. I'll have to dig out my Dynapad or 730TE (or was it the 360PE?) Anyone try Netscape instead?
