Has anyone had any problems installing NIC cards. Tried to install D-Link wireless 650 NIC and it seems to install OK, but the IP stack does not come up. WINIPCFG will not run, I get a "Fatal Error Can't read IP configuration", and Device Manager shows the Network Adapter has failed at what looks like "No Driver Loaded". I then tried to install a Xircom CreditCard 10/100 + 56K Modem CEM56-100 and I get the same thing. Am I missing something!!! Sure would like to get this awesome toy networked.
mondox: I've installed a Linksys PCM100 10/100 and it worked fine. I didn't have to do anything special. I just installed the drivers and configured windows networking. I am still running the default Win95 install. HTH.Glitch
Electronics run on smoke, if you let the smoke out they won't work
The D-Link DWL-650 wireless card requires a Cardbus slot. That is a 32 bit pcmcia slot found on newer notebooks. The slots in the CF-01 are only normal 16 bit pcmcia slots.
Most of the other wireless 802.11b cards are normal pcmcia, I don't know why D-Link needed to use cardbus. The Linksys WPC-11 I know is a standard pcmcia slot.

PS. I just went through this with the D-Link card so I know. Anyone want to buy a brand new D-link card, plugged in only once?
