IR Port
Has anyone used the CF-01 IR port?

Could a VB program address the IR port as a comm port or would you need a custom
driver? Is the port two way?

I don't see why the port would not be two way...what good would it be one-way?

Under windows the ir port is usually assigned a pseudo serial port number and can be accessed at that port just like any other serial port. The simpliest way to test it is to run a terminal program using the irda port and connect to another windows laptop running a terminal program. If you have the irda set up with the taskbar icon and set it to look for devices it will show as soon as the two machine connect. I have never tried using a terminal program but I have used my laptop to talk to the irda port on my watch and it worked great. I will have to give the port on the CF-01 a try tonight with my laptop and see how it goes.

The Ir-port works great for me, I use it to hot-sync my palm III to the desktop software on the CF-01.
