I have found a source for a few rechargable battery packs for the panasonic kxl-d720, d740, d745, and d783 cd-roms. They should currently have about 3 units left (I just picked one up for myself for my d783), and they go for about $32 which incl. shipping. Pretty good deal if you ask me, since these are very hard to find nowadays. They are "open box", but they still have the manufacture's warrenty, so no big deal on that front as long as they work.

The best one I found by far are the Kodak rechargeable Ni-MH AA 1500mAh and charger model k1000
I picked up 6 batt. and charger for around 25.00

The best one I found by far are the Kodak rechargeable Ni-MH AA 1500mAh and charger model k1000
I picked up 6 batteries and charger for around 25.00 I like this over the Ni-Cd battery pack bcause the
Ni-MH are a higher density battery and really don't have a memory problem, only draw-back is you have
to take them out to charge.

Uh, the Panasonic battery pack doesn't work for the KXL-D720. I bought one for my KXL-D720 and there is no way to hook it up or fit it in. Let me know if anyone wants to buy it from me at cost.
The Kodak batteries are a good idea. They hold a lot of juice.
