By any chance did anyone else order from this place ? I've been waiting for a week and a half and still have not received the chips. They won't even respond to my emails.

Yes, I ordered on the 15th. I got the original confirmation, but no followup shipping and tracking info which was promised in the confirmation. I sent two emails, but no response. However this evening the order arrived!

I placed both dimms in place and it works fine showing 248MB (256MB minus the 8MB reserved for video) under Win98SE's System Properties.

The dimms are nearly 1" tall. They jut above the top surface of the front faceplate. I bowed the case slightly upward to reduce pressure on the top of the dimms. With the case closed there is a slight air gap between the faceplate and top in the vicinty of the ram. A slight comsmetic blemish that's well worth the extra memory.

Same thing here. I finally got them today plus a email saying they will credit the shipping charge because they did not ship within 24 hrs of order date. They must have been backordered. 1" is just a little too much for a perfect fit even in the XL2000 because the ram is right under the cd rom drive. I had to shim up on one of the mounting ears about .125 to clear the ram.Running xp pro 256 ram is the way to go , made a big improvement in speed. I have my xl 2000 setup with a K6 III + 450 running at 550 , 256 ram, 8x4x24 cdrw, xp pro, & 12gig hard drive. Nice little pc. Now will work on the xl 1000 , will be the same - the burner. Will try to find a source for less than 1" high ram. Keep you posted if I find one.
