What is the maximum physical size of a hard drive that will fit in a Netier XL 1000? I was wondering if 12mm high 2.5" laptop drive would fit.

12mm drive should fit with no problems as you will have to come up with your own type of hold down bracket. I'm using strips of hook and loop tape on mine (XL1000)
