Hacking Wyse 3320SE

I am currently using an old laptop in my Van as a DVD Player/PC. I came accross a few Wyse 3320SE Winterm's and was wandering if anyone has had any luck in hacking these to boot from something else besides the eeprom. I noticed that they have PCMCIA and a CF slot on the board. I tried removing the eeprom only to have the system not boot (go figure :)) Please let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas. The old 200MHZ laptop in the car works, but the wyse would be a much cleaner setup. Since I already have modified the 14" LCD to act as a standard VGA monitor it should hook in very licely.
