I have a MTX Visara 410 (it says 401 WBT on the back sticker, but when you boot into its CE, it says the model is a Visara 410). I'm having a hard time finding out any information about this machine. My goal is to try to install Linux on it, but it's a difficult machine to find anything out about.

It does have a WinNET II-5BLIP motherboard, but I don't know what it has CPU wise (the sink is glued on, and I haven't been brave enough to pull it off). It has Disk-on-chip and one ide port, but I can't get the machine to power up a hard drive yet... I'm guessing the DOC doesn't look at the IDE. Luckily, my roomie has access to a DOC writer at work because he works with them for a machine of his, but I haven't tinkered with that aspect yet.

Anyone know where I can find some good technical information. MTX's manual for the 410 overall sucks.

Hi there,
I have an Etherminal 5js with the same MB since yesterday.
To boot from disk or getting access to the system's bios, pull out the DiskOnChip Flash-Rom-Module. It has a socket like an IC.
Take care of it's orientation.
Then the machine will have a behaviour like a normal PC, what it used to be.

It's CPU ist an AMD 5x86 (or 586) running with 133MHz.
The onboard-graphics is Cirrus-Logic-like with 2MB VRam. It should make a resolution of 1280x1024@75Hz with 256 colours.
The Sound-system ist a SB16-clone.
Ethernet is 100Mbit.

In my machine the FlashRom ist 12MB and contains a tiny Linux (kernel 2.0 and X11R6) with Netscape 4.
And... a root-password, that I don't know

So I have to examine the FlashRom with an universal-programmer to remove it.

Here you should find some Informations:
