I found an easy way to add the drive access light without modifying case. Use a rectangular led (digikey PN 67-1049-ND [Red] or 67-1049-ND [Grn]) and mount in-bewteen the speaker cloth and one of the speaker holes on the case. The speaker housing will hole the led in place. 5 volts for the led can be found on end pins of floppy connector.
